One Labubu

Groups

Ten designs with two or more: a family, a couple with balloons, a band, friends on bikes, friends reading, a picnic, two sharing an ice cream, streetwear friends, winter friends, and a wizard with a knight. The group pages are where a child can give each figure a different color scheme, which is the main thing collectors do with the real toys.

The teeth

Every design has them and they are the detail to get right. There are nine, they are always visible, and they are what separates this character from an ordinary cartoon rabbit. Leaving them white against a colored face is the correct choice on all 25 pages.

Outfits

Streetwear, a winter coat, a cap and jacket, an explorer’s kit, a spacesuit, and wizard and knight costumes. The clothes carry most of the color in this set, because the character itself is usually one flat tone.

Coloring Tips

Pick one body color and stay with it. The real toys come in a different single color each release, usually a soft pastel or a strong brown. Choosing one and using it across all 25 pages makes them look like a collection. Changing it on every page makes them look unrelated.

Leave the teeth and the eyes white. Nine white teeth and two white eyes against a colored face is the entire look. Filling either in loses the character immediately, and no amount of work elsewhere on the page gets it back.

Put the pattern in the clothes. The body is one flat tone, so the jacket, the cap and the scarf are where a child can actually make decisions. Stripes and spots work better here than on almost any other set on the site.

Give each figure its own color on the group pages. On the ten group designs, coloring every Labubu the same shade wastes the page. Two or three different body colors in one scene is closer to how people actually display them.

Start younger children on the easy version. There is a design drawn specifically with thicker lines and fewer details. After that, the waving, balloon and ice cream pages are the simplest. The band, the picnic and the family pages have the most figures and suit an older child.
